On this page you’ll learn the 6 most important major chords. These major chords are most common chords.
First you see the three chords that consist only of white keys, the Dm chord, the Em chord and the Am chord. In the images you can see exactly where 2 keys are skipped, and where 3. But that’s actually not very important for your fingers. What’s more important is that you always use the same grip.
The Cm chord, the Fm chord and the Gm chord are also constructed in the same way. Here too, first 2 keys are skipped, and then 3. But now it turns out that there is a black key in the middle of the chord. These three chords also feel the same to your fingers. You use the same grip for these three chords as well. To play these three chords, you only have to learn 1 grip. A chord with a black key in the middle.
Practise these minor chords until you know which chords have a black key in the middle. It often takes a few weeks until you really know them well. But with these 6 minor chords (and the 6 major chords you learned earlier) you can play a lot of songs. Thousands and thousands!!
