On this page you’ll learn the 6 most important major chords. These major chords are most common chords.
First you see the three chords that consist only of white keys, the C chord, the F chord and the G chord. In the images you can see exactly where 3 keys are skipped, and where 2. But that’s actually not very important for your fingers. What’s more important is that you always use the same grip.
The D chord, the E chord and the A chord are also constructed in the same way. Here too, first 3 keys are skipped, and then 2. But now it turns out that there is a black key in the middle of the chord. These three chords also feel the same to your fingers. You use the same grip for these three chords as well.To play these three chords, you only have to learn 1 grip. A chord with a black key in the middle.
Practise these major chords until you know which chords have a black key in the middle. It often takes a few weeks until you really know it well. But with these 6 major chords (and the 6 minor chords that you will learn later) you can play a lot of songs. Thousands and thousands!!
