It’s not necessary to always know the name of a note. It is often much easier to see whether notes are next to each other, or whether a place on the staff has been skipped.
When a note is skipped on the staff, you simply skip a key on the keyboard as well. And it is often best to also skip a finger. This way your hand stays close to the same keys. So there’s no need to watch your hands all the time. A few examples:
