Octave

The word octave has several meanings. Here you will first learn the meaning you need so you can play the Game. The purple keys/notes belong to the 1-line octave. All yellow keys/notes are in the 2-line octave.

We often talk about the 'high E', when a note is in the 2-line octave. Or the 'low A' when a note is in the 1-line octave. We often leave out the 1 when talking about notes in the 1-line octave. That's easier. But it is good to know the official names. For example you need them in the Game.
