Each piece of music has its own speed. In music we use the word tempo for speed. You can compare it to your own heartbeat, which is sometimes slow and sometimes fast.

Usually the tempo of a song does not change and you keep playing at the same tempo. It is of course very nice if you can play a song exactly as fast as it should be played. But often it’s smart to practice a bit slower first.
